1. I chose This contents page because the design is unique, the title is written in a different way compared to other magazines. Also the title has no colour as well, they kept it nice and simple because they may want to target it at specific age groups from 16-21. There are two main images that are long shots which shows the reader what kind of cloths they are wearing .The cloths tends to be reveling a lot of bodies parts, also the way the two ladies are stood is quite interesting. There NVC looks very seductive, one of the ladies are pouncing there lips as if she wants to seduce the readers this could attract a number of people. The page has no colour maybe because they wanted the images to be the center of attention. layout is quite fairly simple the font is in black creating a classy look. Moreover the subheadings are in fancy italic font they did this to keep the sophisticated look this contrast with the plain background. Information is quite limited, but just enough to let the readers know what pages to go too. The context is based around R&B.
2. This is a magazine contents page from billboard that normally associate's with R&B. The title is written in bold, capital letters it stands out behind the white background,"contents" is written on the top of the page making it clear for the read to spot. There is a smaller masthead on the contents page. The layout of the page is divided into sections/ blocks this makes it easier for the reader to find what they are looking for seeing as it's arranged according to different music articles, the bright blue lines helps to separate the several sections for example there is regular categories and sub-lines are used, its in the same font as the headline. The page numbers helps the reader know what page to go to. There are four images on the page, three are lined up together in a roll(medium close up shot) , and the main image is a medium shot. The images show people of different genders two men an two women this allows the reader to know the magazine is for unisex. Pictures were used, so that to much information wont let the reader get bored quickly and put-off. the colours used are black, blue, white and on the left third grey, the colours contrast well together making the font stand out, on the white background .This makes it appeal to a range of people mainly older people, male or female.
3.This is a XXL magazine contents page however, they never wrote "contents page" instead they wrote " The B-side" in bold black font this suggest the magazine is not formal. the smaller masthead is located below the title. The main image is a medium shot of a woman that looks laid back and there is four more images that are all men this dominates the fact that it could be aimed mainly at male than female in one of the photo there is more than one person in the picture . All the sub-lines are below every picture and it's big and bold so its stands out making it easy for the reader to see. Colour scheme is white and black mainly because they want the text and image to be more effective on the page.Text is very limited on the page hardly any information on the page compared to other contents pages. However, because there is less text this could be aimed at teenagers because they hardly like reading a lot of information and they will rather look at images more so they wont get bored. Issue date is written in bold font so it stands out to the reader.
